2021 Talbot County 4-H Livestock Auction

The Talbot County 4-H Livestock Auction is fast approaching with Covid-19 still playing into the decision making / planning of the 2021 Talbot County Fair.
At this time, the proposed Talbot County Fair dates are July 6-10.
Yes, proposed with an expanded schedule to spread out the events until CDC, State of Maryland and the local Talbot County Health Department give the go ahead.
With that said let me extend a sincere “Thank-you” to all of the 2020 Talbot County 4-H Livestock Auction virtual bidders and buyers.
The Auction Committee struggled last year, (2020), with what to do to support the young 4H exhibitors who raised livestock for showing and selling at the 2020 Fair. With the 2020 Fair cancelled due to covid a virtual auction was the best option.
Just in time, Curtis Andrews Auctioneering working with their website designer put together an on-line virtual auction system complete with pictures and donated space on there website program to sell the livestock in support of the Talbot County 4-H participates.
Thank you, Curtis Andrews Auctioneering at American Corners.
A letter for the 4-H participates to distribute was written detailing all information about the virtual sale, how to access the site, bidding and the date of the sale. The 4-H participates got the letters to potential bidders and buyers with not much time to spare. With lessons learned from the 2020 virtual auction the 2021 will have some changes to planning, increasing lead time to allow 4-H participates ample time to solicit bidders and buyers, marketing their animal for the Sale. The letters and door knocking will be underway early June and continue up to the auction start date of July 7. So, the 2021 4-H Talbot County Virtual Livestock Auction start time will be 12:00 o’clock (noon), Wednesday, July 7th continuing July 8th then ending at 3:30pm (15:30) on Friday, July 9th.
Please save the date and time frame for this auction.
It is a shorter time frame from last year’s virtual auction and is not over a weekend.
Please support all the 4-H participates during the sale by bidding and buying. As always in support of the 4-H youth, the animals will be hauled free of charge to one of two USDA inspected processing facilities. At the conclusion of the virtual sale, successful buyers will be contacted providing direction for payment and processing of the animal.
The Virtual Auction will commence on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 12 O’clock (noon) and end Friday, July 9, 2021 at 3:30pm (15:30).

On behalf of all the Talbot County 4-H Livestock sale participates, thank you for your support during this challenging time.
