Discover Easton launches programs to support Easton’s small businesses

Although Easton’s small business community has been hit hard by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, many businesses are changing their routines or incorporating new ways of serving customers during these unprecedented times. As part of this effort to connect customers with the small businesses that need them most, Discover Easton is pleased to roll out its Local Business Gift Card program, an easy-to-use online portal where visitors can purchase gift cards or certificates to their favorite locally-owned businesses while practicing social distancing.

CBMM to close in response to Coronavirus

After carefully reviewing the actions announced by the governor of Maryland and in the best interest of our guests, employees, and volunteers, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM) will temporarily close to the public on a 24-hour basis in response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) beginning Saturday, March 14. CBMM anticipates reopening April 1, subject to further evaluation. CBMM will also postpone the 9th Eastern Shore Sea Glass and Coastal Arts Festival, originally scheduled for Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5, due to an executive order announced by the state prohibiting gatherings of more than 250 people.

University of Maryland Medical System Announces Visitor Policy Changes At All Facilities In Response To COVID-19

As part of its ongoing preparedness and response effort regarding COVID-19 and in order to protect patients, staff and visitors, the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) today announced changes to the visitor policy at all 13 System hospitals and other UMMS healthcare facilities. As this is a rapidly-evolving situation, these changes are in effect beginning Wednesday, March 11 at 7am until further notice.

Mid-Shore Non-Profits Invited to Honor a Woman Who “Leads the March”

The Women Who Make a Difference luncheon, which celebrates local women who have made special contributions to a non-profit organization, will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at the Miles River Yacht Club. Easton AAUW (the American Association of University Women) invites all Mid-Shore non-profit groups to nominate a woman who has made a special contribution to their organization for recognition. The event honors the accomplishments of many exceptional women and gives all who attend an opportunity to learn about the countless ways that their dedication enriches our civic life.
