Our Monday and Thursday watercolor classes have openings for new students. Also, the Wednesday Oil painting class is looking for new students. If you are interested in any of these classes, please feel free to contact the senior center at 410-822-2869.
Have you been busy with your needlework during covid? Still have some unfinished projects? Come join the Yarn and Needle Group Wednesday mornings at the senior center. Your fellow needlework (crochet, knitting, needlepoint, etc.) friends will be happy to give you some pointers or just share a laugh or two as you complete those projects together.
There is still space available to join us on Fridays at 12 noon, as Emma Bailey w/Mike Elzey Guitar, teaches guitar and ukulele. Sign up now as space will be limited. Contact Brookletts Place at 410-822-2869.
Tuesday, October 12th, 10:00am-11:00am. Free “Jesus Is The Light” Craft. Join us for Crafting with Tonia. Limited to 10 participants. Advance sign-up is required by October 5th.
Wednesday – Friday, October 13-15th, 12:30pm–2:30pm. Join us for a “TREASURE NECKLACE WORKSHOP” Instructor Sue Stockman will help you create a one-of-a-kind piece jewelry to celebrate your unique style and cultural heritage. Beautiful glass beads and semi-precious stones will be provided as well as everything needed to make an interwoven beaded necklace, to suit your style. Old buttons, shells, single earrings, can be added bringing your personal memories together. We will bead and share our stories leaving with a deeper connection and a meaningful assemblage of colors, textures and memories that can be worn. Advance sign up is required by October 4th as space is limited. This program is funded in part by a grant from the Talbot County Arts Council, with revenues provided by the Maryland State Arts Council. Additional funding has been provided by The American Legion, Blake Blackston Post #77.
Tuesday, October 14th, join us from 12 noon – 1:00pm for lunch/music with Gene Edwards Review digital keyboard and vocal music is back, featuring a full array of amazing hits. Advance sign-up for lunch is required or you may bring your own lunch.

Lunch & Learn “Life Planning For ALL Ages.” Please join Mid Shore Pro Bono as they present: “Life Planning for ALL Ages.” Bring the family to learn more about how to plan for the future. Join “Positive Music w/DJ Randy P and Company” Tuesday, October 26th, 10:00am – 11:00am. Reduce your weekly stress by enjoying a fun, safe, and positive musical experience in a motivation environment. Advanced Registration is required as space is limited.
On Thursday, October 28th, 12:15pm – 1:00pm. Lunch & Learn “Banking 101”. Please join Shore United Bank as they present: “Banking 101”. Learn about some of the latest banking information. Questions and answer session follows presentation. Advance sign-up for lunch required by October 14th or you may bring your own lunch.
Join us Friday, October 29th, 12:00pm – 1:00pm for lunch with The Jones Boys. The Jones Boys are a country music group who enjoy playing traditional country music. They are a favorite among the seniors at Brookletts Place. The group consists of Jim Jones and his son Darren. They have been together since 1992 and have appeared in Nashville and at numerous local events to include fairs, local clubs and senior centers. Made possible by the generous support of the Talbot County Arts Council with revenues provided by the Maryland State Arts Council, the Mid-Shore Community Foundation (MSCF), Dock Street Foundation, Artistic Insights Fund, Brookletts Place, and by individual contributions to Carpe Diem Arts Outreach Fund c/o MSCF. A two-week advance sign-up is required for lunch by October 15th or you may bring your own.
