The Talbot County Friday Afternoon Dance Class is Back with New Classes Starting January 2020

The Talbot County Friday Afternoon Dance Class has been hosting a Ballroom Dancing and Etiquette Class for several years.  Instructor Amanda Showell will be returning for her 14th year teaching the class.  Ms. Showell has been teaching dance for over 23 years and is a former US champion in competitive dancing.
The class is for children in grades 3rd-6th.  This is a fun filled, 8-week class, where students will learn the basic steps of The Waltz, Cha-Cha, Swing, Tango and Merengue adapted to modern songs and today’s hits!  They will also review basic etiquette such as proper introductions, table manners, party etiquette and the all too important cell phone and computer etiquette. The session ends with a dance party where the students get to show off their new dance skills with the dances they’ve learned to family and friends!
“I like how Ms. Amanda teaches the children a lesson in manners at the beginning, she teaches dance while continuously rotating the partners and always has a fun finale that they love to do each time. It gives them an upper edge of confidence at those middle school dances they start to attend soon afterwards… Going for the first time to class may take a little nudge. In our case, we told our first son that it is just part of becoming a gentleman. It is on our family agenda to go as we approach 3rd grade. It’s so worth it if you’re looking for another way to encourage your young ladies and gentlemen!” – C. Smith
Classes begin 1/3/20 and run through 2/28/20. 3rd Grade Class: 4:30pm-5:30pm. 4th-6th Grade Class: 5:45pm-6:45pm. Classes will be held at: Trinity Cathedral Episcopal Church – Miller Hall, 314 North St, Easton, MD 21601.  Cost is: $110.
